I wear a 59 an used the strips to get mine to fit.
I was one of the first to get the CD deluxe. It now
    fits perfectly.

    Hatter,

I think I'm probably going to give it a try. It's driving me crazy looking at it....I want it to fit so bad!

In case you or anybody else is interested, below is a link to some cotton liners I've used before. I've never tried them in a felt hat but they look like they may work well. I think I still have a few laying around somewhere. Thanks again for everybody's help.

Mine is not yet the perfect fit, but like my Federations it is slowly snugging up and conforming to my head the more I wear it.
    If in doubt - overdress.

I'd order a 59 and see how it fits. All of my Akubra's have shrunk a little, including my CD Silver Belly Deluxe. If the 59 fits better, and I'm sure it will, sell the 60. I'm betting you'll be able to get pretty close to what you've got into it from a fellow Akubra lover who understands how much it costs to get one here from Oz. Just don't do anything to it that would make it any condition other than NIB.

FYI - My "standard" hat size is between 7-1/4 & 7-3/8. The Akubra 59 is a little loose - too loose to wear if there's a breeze. So, once I get them bashed, I remove the liner and soak them with distilled water and let them air dry. This is usually enough to get them to shrink down to the right size for my head. I've had a couple that required a second soak. I've discovered the soaking also seams to soften the felt.

I'm a dead on 24", 7 5/8, 61. I order Campdrafts in 61 & open crown, they are too big. Once I crease them & wear them, they fit fine.

Just a little update on my new Akubra Campdraft Deluxe in size 60. I put some sizing spacers in it and I'm afraid it is just too big. I've decided to sell it and wait for the size 59 I ordered. If anybody would like it just send me a PM and I'm sure we can work something out. If nobody here wants it I will probably list it for sale on Ebay. Thanks.

OK. I finally figured out how to get an image from FB to post here (I think).

This is my new Camp Draft imperial. It's a great hat!

Regarding sizing: Because I read here that they run a bit big, I ordered a 57 cm instead of my usual 58 (which requires folded tissue all around the sweatband). The 57 sometimes feels a bit tighter than I'm used to -- but, then again, my 58 cm Jackaroo tends to go a-flying in a strong wind when my forehead is sweaty, even with the tissue spacer. I guess that if the Camp Draft shrinks too much I can stretch it back a bit. Meanwhile, it's snug but comfortable even during our hot Israeli summers.

That Campdraft looks great on you, deyoungaza! It's larger proportions go well with that handsome beard. And welcome to the Lounge!

That three-quarter profile is indeed sharp.
