    That is a fantastic video. Color really makes images from 60 years ago, feel present day.

    Awesome. The happiness of those celebrating (notice the blonde Sailor kissing all the girls as he walks with a cane), was well contrasted with scenes showing the human cost of the war. And the smiling PTO U.S. Soldiers at the end...One of them could have been my father. What our parents' and grandparents' generation went through, we'll never really know.

    That clip is from a History Channel program called World War II - The Lost Color Archives that aired in 2000. Good series with a lot of color footage.

    I bought that series on VHS when it first came on the market. The entire collection is utterly fascinating. I highly reccomend it!

    Yes, there are a couple or more, "WW2 in colour film" type documentaries.
    "WW2 in Colour" was from 1998.
