Rockabilly anyone??

As to the fashions, I do my own thing and always have. I see no reason to go into a place looking like a carbon copy of everyone else...so I don't.

It's funny to see people who look nearly identical obviously trying to be individual.

Cars, you don't see a ton of rat rods here, and if you do, it's because they're not done fixing them up, although you will see a ton of classics restored.

And I am just about as sick of seeing rat rods as I am of those terrible purple/ yellow/hot pink rods at car shows.

It's not just rockabilly, though. Although I see my fair share, and yours too, of Stop Staring dresses when I go to Atlanta.

Cars...hey nothing wrong with a little hot pink. I plan on doing just that to my car so no one will drive it. I can't see some of the manly men I know asking to test drive a pink monstrosity, and well, gals can't drive stick that would ask.

I haven't had good results. I have tried a few pieces but none of them fit properly so I had to pay to have them altered. Also, all pieces had a stain or tear that was impossible to hide, it seemed. In the long run, it didnt turn out to be more economical for me.

Hey, we've really gotten off topic! haha. I really love my blue jeans and bandanas. They are still very much a part of my wardrobe.

I am sure that somewhere around yours, there is the typical antique shopping mall or thrift shop.
Most of my wardrobe comes from this places in USA, when i have gone traveling around your country.

As for the look and the bands.... man, what can i say?
Is just the right think that tickles me.
Just give me our feminine fashion and wild dirty Rockabilly all the time

When attending gigantic weekenders, like Viva Las Vegas, it's pretty amazing to see how many folks do look exactly alike. But I think, when those people go home to what ever small town they're from, they go back to being the local weirdo. This of course does not include L.A....Rockabilly's epicenter!

I lam definitely a fan of Rockabilly music. I adore Custom Car CUlture, blue jeans, bandanas, and all that bunk. So even though I'm principally inspired by 1940's and 1950's cinema when it comes to clothing, my love for Rockabilly also shows through.

I love the classic stuff: Sid King and the Five Strings, Johnny Cash, Elvis (of course), Gene Vincent, Carl Perkins, Wynonie Harris, Wanda Jackson, Janis Martin, Billy Lee Riley, and the Collins Kids. But I love the newer stuff too...The Stray Cats, Lee Rocker's solo stuff, The Lonesome Spurs,Hillbilly Casino, and alot of stuff that would probably be classified 'Psychobilly'.

How 'bout' yourself.

You can just ditto this whole post for me too, . I will add Reverend Horton Heat in the music list.

I know 'billy players still slap the bass on occasion. Have any of them tried playing early jazz?

Jazz bassists refuse to slap under any circumstances. They claim it's rough on the hands and the instrument - but I suspect ignorance.

I'm sure you've taken your measurements. If someone sells you something with one measurements listed but they are different from what arrives, you need to return it! I occasionally am unlucky, but the vast majority of sales are ok.

Plus with etsy, most sellers are willing to take returns.

Hey, nothing wrong with being the local weirdo.

It's more obvious at the big gatherings, but it's also pretty prevalent in small clubs too. I go to a place in the Shoals in Alabama where the couple girls that dress in the style apparently don't know each other, and they have the same dresses (maybe worn different times, granted) and wear their hair in exactly the same quiff/ponytail/hair flower combo.

To be fair, I have a friend, bless her soul, who copies that exact same look when we go out. Hers is more from trying to fit in and it embarrasses the hell out of her I don't look like the other girls, and you have to also take that side into consideration. Some people are not comfortable not looking sorta like someone else.
