Oh yeah! Hippies don't wear ties though.
People think they are so rebellious and original, when really they are just banal, boring and dumb.

Thrift shop ties for today- early to mid '50s. There were also a bunch of silk knit ties, but they all had issues.

    More Tootal ties

Anyone who reads my posts knows that i have a love of Tootal ties, scarves and cravats. So here are some recent purchases:

This is from the 'Silver Quality' range. The fabric doesn't feel like rayon, making me think it is one of the later man-made fabrics Tootal used (possibly late 50s early 60s?). But i couldn't resist that pattern:

Now a much more ordinary pattern, green with white spots, from the 'Standard Quality' range, in a 'Tebilized' fabric:

And my favourite of the new batch, a horse-head design from the 'Special Quality' range:

This close-up better shows the true colour:

I found a drawer full of ties at an estate sale today. I picked up a few---even one knot planned tie and a handpainted. I'll have to get some pictures but at 25 cents each, I even took some thin ties that I doubt I will ever wear but they were 25 cents!

Well, not all---unless I can send all the 70s monstrosities to you after I sort them out.
That being said, I went back and got a plain green early fifties tie today along with a few other things: fan, fold up chair, pendleton robe, Stetson gun club hat for one son and a straw pith helmet for the other one, a fan and a 30s umbrella for my wife.

Here is the latest from my batch of vintage German ties. It has no labels, but I guess it is 1930s or 1940s.
