A true corset might work, as opposed to a cincher or a girdle, but you've really got to be up for one of those.
I have considered waist training, but I have a pretty active lifestyle so not sure if that would allow for that. As for wearing a corset on occasion for the right dress absolutely. THANK you sooooo very much for this response it helps greatly on items that I'm on the fence with right price and fantastic fits everywhere else except waist.

From my post in the blog thread (http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showt...#post1464002):

I love Vanity Fair's Ravissant and Lace Nouveau Brief- highwaisted 'big knickers' in lovely slinky nylon, super comfy, great quality, in colors to match vintage bras too! (and a lot cheaper than the 'retro' panties around... good if you want a full set and not just a few- I got mine 3 for about $18 from Macy's).

I really love Bali's Skimp Skamp briefs too- I love the sheer nylon and they are literally *the* comfiest panties I have ever worn in my life.

No you aren't. I used to get mine at Porteous or J. C. Penney back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, but the only stockings you can get in the stores now that I can find are the cheap "bedroom" kind.

Try the seamed stocking thread. There is tons of information there.

For high waisted nickers, I find I can wear these with my girdles, pantyhoes, and garter belts, with tons of comfort. Lollipop cotton panties have been known for their comfort and great fit for over 50 years http://www.vermontcountrystore.com/s..._3_Pair)/43420

What Katie Did's blackout french knickers are lovely. I bought 2 pairs in the sale in black and they now do them in peach - on my Xmas list!

As for waist cinchers (sorry if this has been mentioned before but I haven't gone back through the whole thread), WKD's is good, but as I'm small mine is just too long and I've never worn it. I wear my Doreen long line bra with the WKD glamour high suspender belt and my french knickers over the top. It really gives a very well defined waist and the seperates mean they fit the shorter figure better.

And it's actually very comfortable for all day wear!

I find the WKD low girdle very comfortable, and the Widow (longline bra + cincher) is extremely comfortable and gives me a perfect hourglass shape. Both are definitely "all day wear"-able.
