'Can I please reapply my lipstick myself?' ... I so would be a pain!
Maybe they just didn't want you stealing the show from Hayley Atwell, the female lead! That's their loss!

    Captain America

Wearing a set of blue pyjamas just isn't right for bashing Nazis these days. So Captain America has updated his look for the forthcoming film.

That jacket looks a bit Aero to me.

I imagine revealing the suit we're used to, and acquiring the trademark shield, are being reserved for climax points in the film - makes for good storytelling. Movies that tease and hold back on what you're waiting to see are often much more effective for it.

That jacket is an Aero, but they are not allowed to tell that

Funnily enough, my first thought was 'custom based on the Bootlegger'...
    If in doubt - overdress.

Yes, they were. But there were vertical twins used during that war time, as well. Current HDs are so similar in shape to their bikes of 60 years ago that it usually works for general audiences when they dress up (or down) a current model. Discerning bikers, er, motorcyclists, can, for instance, tell a flathead from an evo or twin-cam, and a rigid from a soft tail. ;o)

we're getting at least 3 different versions of the suit in the movie. The USO version which supposedly looks much like the original comic (hence the classic shield shaped shield), and thus rather ridiculous in live action. The modified with leather jacket and helmet version inspired by the Marvel Ultimate version of Captain America. and the Final suit with round shield as seen on the EW cover.
