    Favorite Uniforms

I was wondering what some favorite uniforms of the lounge are. I personally like the look of the Uniforms of the First Napoleonic Empire, as well as the American Uniforms used in the Spanish American war, specifically the use of mandarin collars.

This is a tough one. There are so many great looking uniforms throughout history that to try and pick one or two is difficult. If I had to choose, I particularly like the militaria of the Roman republic around the time of Julius Caesar. When you had a high ranking soldier with all that regalia and colo and the red crested helmets, I think that is the best. Then again, I did study Latin in high school for 3 years.

If I had to make a number 2 choice, I would say the English uniforms of the medieval period with all the colors and coats of arms.

SoWesPac khaki for me--still practical and professional, and far enough from "current issue" to be viable for everyday wear (as long as the wearer conducts themself appropriately) even around large military bases like the newly merged "Joint Base Lewis-McChord"*snort*.

Although not a uniform as such. American Indian warriors looked amazing.
I agree Napoleonic (Calvary in particular) looks good as well.

But I vote for the Greek Hoplite.

I'd say (not in any order) The Late 1700's British Redcoat uniform, Late 1800's boer war uniform, German afrikakorps uniform and the german gebirgsjager uniform!

Ah, good to hear from you Stetson! And I would have to agree that the Redcoat looked nice, although not the best choice if you are conducting guerrilla warfare .
And a quick point to 1961MJS: I really don't think the children of the Reich had much choice in whether they joined the Hitler Youth or not.

If you give points for flair, I think the Italian Carabineri, may have to take the lead.

However, the Spanish Guardia Civil may have that beat.

The bicorne gets extra flair points, but the Carabineri are still carrying swords. So, it may be a tie.
