What's funny is that I like some metal, too. Depends on my mood. But I don't understand why so many people have an aversion to "sweet."
2013 feels like a creepy uncle who keeps trying to kiss me. I want to dodge it as much as possible!

Oh and this one is hilarious. Thanks to Tom for reminding me of it:
One of the Newer songs. A modern spiritual!
I love me some Hee Haw.

And I do agree, some of the songs sung on LW was pretty corny. I can't stand the Chicken Dance at all and apparently they had a segment for it on the show but I think it was Bobby with his kids doing it...ugh! I just can't find any class in doing the Chicken Dance, regardless who is playing the music!

Hallmark used to make good movies...notice I said "used to." I caught some newer ones at my mother-in-law's once and longed for when they made books into movies like "Sarah, Plain and Tall."

Oh yes. Lots and lots of artificial sweetener in their movies!

It's like Lifetime movies with happy endings. Yuck.

Metal is good, just depends on what type. If it's that death metal type hooplah, forget it. I feel like most artists in that genre are just trying to up one another on who can holler the loudest while banging out some chords on their guitar.

Sweet can be great, it's true. For me, sweet needs a ukelele somewhere in the mix. There's just something about a ukelele's sound, played slowly, that's both happy and longing at the same time.

Case in point: Isham Jones's 1924 song, "I'll See You in my Dreams."
