Dobbs 15 Open Road, (converted to my hot rod hat)

This is a really great hat, as you can see I have a hot rod hatband on it, the bow "floats" sitting on top of a back bow, box sown onto the hatband itself. The liner is in A1 shape, so it the sweat band, there is one small moth nibble as you can see a mark on the underside of the brim, that is the only blemish on the entire hat. The size of the moth nibble and mark is very small, and I will clean it if someone buys the hat to see if I can get it off. I had decided to leave it alone the entire time I have owned this hat. This is the real vintage hat from Dobbs, a great looker. I do have some vintage brown thin ribbon I can give to anyone that may buy this if they want it to go back to being an "Open Road", but myself, I like the hat as is! This is from the past, early or mid 1950's. The hat had a advertisement in the sweatband from that time period used to make the hat fit a past owner.

The color is best shown in the lighter of the pictures you view color wise, and if you buy this hat, you will enjoy owning and wearing it if you are a size 7 3/8. Brim is a healthy 2 7/8th incher, and the crown is 5 inches on the side as bashed now, open crown a bit more than 6! Mount Everest....

Very nice felt, the ribbon being less "traditional" than what we usually see might be limiting your buyer's offers, even though you're offering thin gross grain replacement IMHO.

I am very sure you are correct. When I first obtained the hat, the original thin ribbon was falling off, had rips and looked very sad indeed. I could not save it. However, I have some thin chocolate brown ribbon that if a buyer wanted this hat, can remove my bow/ribbon easily and replace. The main reason I went with the bow/ribbon that is on the hat now, is the contrast. I wanted it to have a different look.

And as always I will entertain any notable offers, I just want to make some room for incoming hats and to see this one go to a Lounger! Thanks!
