The Germans did invade England - Shoreham airport Luftwaffe landing

Just to prove my point the Luftwaffe did in fact invade England in 1940, well errrr 2010 actually.

Here is a genuine and still flying ME109 at the Shoreham Air Show August 2010.

PS the only piece of Britain they did occupy were the Channel Islands.

The Channel Island are not part of Britain. They are crown dependencies, but technically they are the remnant of the Duchy of Normandy, not part of Britain proper. Of course residents there are entitled to British citizenship, but that's by dint of the British having extended British citizenship to subjects throughout the Empire (as was), much like the Romans before them. Same deal with Northern Ireland (and formerly all of Ireland).
    If in doubt - overdress.

I think the term you are looking for is "smartass".

The Luftwaffe had such lovely planes.... and uniforms..... pity about their boss, really.

Hmmm . . . if the folks in the Channel Islands are perfectly happy remaining British, and the French have no problem with it, then maybe the folks in Argentina should take notice of that fact. (Sorry! I know, it's political. Ignore this comment!)

Yes it is a Spanish built Hispano H-1112 Buchon. Very nice but very dangerous, to the pilot that is! They added a three bladed propeller, looks more like an original.

You may be right; I'm not an expert on German planes of WW2. So let's say it was a Spanish built one. Incidentally in the 1970 film Battle of Britain they used a lot of ex Spanish planes repainted for the Luftwaffe fleet.

But it was nice to see the dog fight with the ME109 and a few Spitfires and Hurricanes.

Here is the RAF Ops. tent at Shoreham.....
