Aero LHB/Teamster - "Correct" Length???

I've had an LHB and Teamster on order since early February and am sure that manufacture must be imminent. I deliberately went for a probably longer than usual length, basically covering my butt, similar to this LHB length here.

Then I saw the recent Teamster thread which has a very much shorter cut and definitely shorter than I had in mind. As you all know, both jackets are basically the same design, just with a zip or buttons.

Does anyone have any views one way or the other? I'm nervous I might have gone too long. I'm 5'11" and I think I specified a 30" length. Maybe I should knock off an inch or so.

I'm 5'9.5 and my size 38 LHB is standard and has a 27.5-inch length. I don't have a shot of the jacket from the rear, but it doesn't cover my rear fully.

The LHB you linked didn't mention any request for additional length.

Thanks Grayland. Nice pic - is that brown FQHH? I'd be happy anywhere between your length and the linked one. I didn't know what the standard size was as I got measured by Will at Aero and said I wanted it to go to the bottom of the Levi curve stitching of my jeans. I think that came at about 30". If your 38" is a standard 27.5", then my (slightly custom) 41" might easily be another inch longer as standard and then I've gone some more.

I suppose if I knew what the standard length of a 42" was, and also what height Andy Richards is, then I'd have a range to look at. It's a public holiday today in the UK, so I can't check standard lengths with Aero until tomorrow.

It is brown FQHH. I had no say in the specs of this jacket as I bought it on ebay, but I love the LHB. To be honest though, I'm not a fan of the alpaca lining. I find it a bit too warm and kind of itchy. If and when it comes time to replace the lining, I'll go with a tartan lining.

I went with the tartan lining as I want to be able to use a thin layer under it when it gets colder and have a bit more flexibility. The hardest part was wading through the 300 patterns, but I ended up with this.

Nice pick. A Wallace patttern should allow you to shoot fireballs out of your arse. My last name is Campbell, so I went with the Campbell tartan for my
30's half-belt on order.

I think you should be ok. I thought it was suppose to come to the butt not cover it. It was my mistake. One thing though, you should perhaps specify that the front length be the same as the back. If I recall correctly the back length for me was 26inches while the front measured something like 24inches. It ended up being more of a Stuart length in that sense.

Equality, it was good to see your pics, as they were the best Teamster ones I've seen. Thanks to your pics, I'm almost tempted to make a late change from my Vintage Black FQHH to your seal goat. Now you mention it, your jacket does have a Stuart vibe to it, because of the length. I definitely want something longer, so a slightly shorter front won't matter if it's all about 4" longer anyway.

No need to worry if Will measured you, the jacket will come exactly as you requested it! he did the same with my custom Stockman and I was delighted with it, also the riever tartan is an excellent choice of lining as it's not at all warm meaning you can wear the jacket well into the warmer weather!
