    Bowler dent removal

I just purchased a vintage bowler on Ebay. There is a large dent right on the top, see picture. If I push on the dent from the inside I can get it to pop out while I am pushing on the dent. But as soon as I remove pressure from the inside the dent pops back. Is this something I can fix myself? If so how can I remove the dent.

Hit it with a bit of steam from the outside while pushing it back into place with your hand from the inside. Should be good as new in a couple seconds.

I was thinking the same thing, since the bowler is stiffened with shellac, right?
    Nice lid, bobx!
