1st post...Varsity Towne formal suit

Hello- firsat time posting here. I've got a white tie formal suit from Varsity Towne Clothes. It was sold at Kaufmann's in Pittsburgh and has November 20th 1948 stamped in the sleeve lining. Does anyone know much about this maker?

It's a typical 40's piece- heavy "London Shrunk" fabric and very wide grosgrain lapels. I'll be able to post a picture as I'll be wearing it to a dance in a few weeks and will get a shot then.
