I thought Black Peter was the name of the spy Krampus had? Parents would keep a small doll of Black Peter in the bedroom of the children and he would report the misdeeds they performed back to Krampus. But considering how far and wide the legend is spread, it probably has its variations.

I love Corelli's Christmas Concerto but I don't know if that counts as a Christmas song? Here's part of anyway:
Helga Natt (O Holy Night) with legendary Golden Era tenor Jussi Björling is a Christmas tradition in my family:
The most played Christmas record in both our and my grandparents' house was a Mahalia Jackson one (my grandmother was a huge Mahalia-fan). Her Silent Night gives me chills.
Arguably two of the absolute greatest voices of the 20th century...
And then I love Eartha Kitt's Santa Baby

Exploring The Victorian World - my blog on Victorian England and Beyond.
Yep. Top of the heap!
I have about 50 (way too many) Christmas CDs. The ones that get the most play are:
Diana Krall - Christmas Songs
Tony Bennett - A Swingin' Christmas
Oscar Peterson - An Oscar Peterson Christmas
Chet Baker - Silent Nights
Too many great songs on all of these to single out one or two!

Two more songs that remind me of Christmas Eve, trying to get where you're going during that last hustle and bustle.

I work in retail so I get burned out on Christmas carols being played all day long. But I must admit I always enjoy Perry Como's Dream a Christmas Dream.
