Cool... I don't smoke but I use matches to light our creaky old gas cooker. Every time I want to make a cuppa joe I use matches as well.

I'd love to find matches that can be lit w/o that abrasive strip, like in the old films...

Nah... it is some nondescript brand - like a Mr. Happy Shopper cooker version. It isn't ours - we're renting.

The only reason I use matches it that the automatic starter doesn't work and I can't be arsed to have the rental agency arrange for it to be fixed!

Anyhow - I like using them... it makes me feel like I'm living in the past!
