A quick fix for missing/broken tabs and buttons: slide a sideways penny behind your stocking through the garter
clasp, then turn it facing flat. My mum used to do this (she found it embarrassing and thrifty, but I think it's rather clever).

That is clever! Thanks for sharing! This is a great thread. I currently own 2 Rago 821's. I adore it! I started out wearing them with dresses and skirts but I've recently taken to wearing them with slacks. I'm looking to expand my girdle wardrobe and I'm considering a rago 9357 and wearing a 1294 with the 2202.

^ I've had to do that a few times! I actually find that a nickel works best, because it is heavy and thick enough that it won't "pull" through if you're moving around quite a bit.

I'm considering the 1294 myself and was curious what people thought of it.

For my taste the 1294 is just a bit to heavy for everyday use – i prefer the Rago 1365. It gives you good support, keeps your stocking seams are straight and blends in perfectly with your body movements.

I have had some durability issues with my 1294 -- hooks pulling loose, boning slipping out of seam pockets, garter straps pulling out of the hem, things like that. I tend to move around a lot, and that puts a lot of strain on a girdle, so if one is more active than usual I'd recommend a pull-on panty girdle instead.

I'm not very active at all. I sit at a desk all day, so no extra strain. Darn life of a desk jockey...

I really like Rago 1361 but I also have a pull on girdle from Nylon Dreams that I love. It's very soft and not contricting at all, which is great ecpecially at certain times of the month.

I have a Crepe Suzette 1476, from Orchard Corset. I love it. It's comfortable, has excellent control, wears well, and takes inches off without bunching or creeping. I like it so much I'm about to order another one in black. They're on sale right now for under $20. Highly recommended.

I have a couple of Bellanca 5004 for every day wear. It's a rather soft and comfortable pull on girdle that doesn't do much in regard to shaping. But since I basically only need something that keeps up my stockings without the bulge I get from garters it's perfect for me. And they're fairly inexpensive so I can have several and toss them in the washing machine when I launder my other delicates every other week. I buy them from Korsett Atelier Kassel.
