    Sleepytime Gal

With so many ladies loving vintage, I am wondering what you all prefer for wearing for sleeping. It seems to me that, at least in the movies, the nightgowns of the Golden Era were so gorgeous and beautifully made. Today's offerings seem to pale by comparison. But maybe there are some wonderful brands out there that I don't know of. Anybody care to chime in?

I like the nightgowns by Lanz of Salburg; they're available at the Vermont Country Store. www.vermontcountrystore.com

Not exactly vintage but pretty, and they last forever. I love the flannel ones in winter.

Pajamas for ladies are perfectly correct in my humble opinion For summer, the lighter ones that were called baby doll pajamas. Whenever I wear nightgowns they end up "migrating north" and twisting round me like a tourniquet while I sleep!

who else saw this?!!??! (it was on one of the links!)

I find that to be absolutely hilarious! My mom tells me about how my grandmother used to put her money inside a folded hankie and pin it inside of her bra....

Makes for rather uneasy access if you ask me!!

Okay, this is a bit off-topic and may be TMI for some, but I often tuck an OB tampon inside my bra if I want to carry one with me and am in a situation where I don't want to obviously take my purse into the restroom with me.

Because I'm not busty enough to have cleavage-that-clamps, I just tuck it under my breast; the bra keeps everything tucked up tight. You really can't feel it once it's there.

I also once tucked a few $100 bills in there, when hubby and I were on vacation and got lost in a neighborhood that was a little iffy.

    Bras are quite useful inventions.
