I keep mentioning George (whom I work with) who has started a collection of Optimos (going on one for every day of the month).
Here he is.

He just grabs his hats and puts them on... no worry about brim shape of crown bash.

Yes.
Though the brim is a bit larger. looks more suited to him with the bigger brim, and he likes the shade.

I have to say, sometimes I'm jealous of the freedom. He often comes in with one hat or another looking completely Raideresque. He bashes them himself but does so by just grabbing the open crown with his tight grip.
