A pioneer of an era has passed...
Hey all,
This story is a few days late. I don't know how I missed it. But, to sum up for you, one of the original members of the Rockford Peaches is dead. Rosie Gacioch, one of the first women in the Women's All-American League that stepped up to keep America's favorite pasttime going while the men were at war, died on Sept 12. To read the full story, go here: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...o_obit_gacioch I think I'll throw in A League of Their Own tonight and watch it. I was going to watch some more of the dubious Star Wars DVD set, but this story has made me sad. Those of you who met me on the QM last year probably saw my Rockford Peaches hat that I wore during the MK tour. I have always felt these women remained unsung to a large degree. Mike |

Thanks for that article. Our women deserve a lot of credit for their contributions.
