Ok...here is the second batch of my photos....
Before getting our tickets to enter the Art Deco Exhibtion, we checked out the Charleston lessons that SwingDag was invovled in. Mojito and gingemore in action doing the Charleston ![]() Mojito and gingemore in action doing the Charleston ![]() After much oohaing and aahing inside the exhibition at the stunning pieces, we grouped outside for some photos at the entrance signs. Mojito, gingermore, restless thing and Godfrey ![]() ![]() Mojito, gingermore, splatt and Godfrey ![]() ![]() After leaving the NGV we then wandered the streets of Melbourne and visited a few bars...EQ Bar, The Toff in Town (love the carriages), Madame Brussels (the fake grass was interesting...but the warm alcohol was lovely), Pellegrini’s (how can you not like Pellegrini's), Mai Tai Cocktail (Tiki) Bar (interesting...in a good sort of way), the Chill On Ice Bar (very cold...-10o celsius...brrrr) and Charlie’s Bar (the cocktails were as always...perfect). Splatt, gingermore, Mojito and Jill at The Toff in Town ![]() Gingermore, Mojito and Fi at Pellegrini’s ![]() It was a great day and the perfect way to meet fellow Fedora Loungers...I can't wait for the next one on the 30th of August ![]() Now we wait for Mojito's photos...I can't wait to see the Ice bar shots...brrrrr....

Awesome photos, Splatt! The ones we took outside the exhibition didn't really turn out. And thank you for posting the bar list...Jill and I were trying to reconstruct the trek, and figured we'd need to refer to the bar list Fi gave us.
Here's the first shot, taken in the Qantas Club at Sydney airport. I didn't want to trust the cloche (worn here a bit high) to baggage...forgetting the rather large hatpin! The alarms were going off in security - after removing my necklace and then asking if it could be the zippers on my boots, the staff suggested it was the hat. Good thing none of us thought to notice that it was it was a functional pin and *very* pointy under the closure: ![]() Circa with myself, Madame Circa and Splatt - what a brilliant trip this was! I could have listened to Nicole for hours (in fact, we ran an hour over the time we'd allotted for the visit). She brought out the most fabulous 20s and 30s gowns she's working on, and was absolutely fascinating - I learned so much in just the time we were in the shop. She was endlessly patient with us prowling around and asking a gazillion questions: ![]() Cherry Manhattans in The Toff - I *loved* this place! : ![]() Gingermore, I have no photos of you in that fantastic hat! A great photo in Pellegrini's - Gingermore's sweater reminded me of the classic Schiaparelli trompe l'oeil. Splatt had some wonderful family history to go with this restaurant: ![]() The Tiki Bar - no idea what was in this. Everynow and then I get that irresistable impulse to go with most garish thing going in a hurricane glass. This called a "Butterfly": ![]()

And now for the Ice Bar!
This was a hoot - we were the only ones there, and afterwards when we walked out into the chill Melbourne night, it felt as balmy as walking out the airport doors in Singapore, as Splatt pointed out: ![]() Splatt in the clutches of the Abominable Ice Man: ![]() The cloche had its own perch (I didn't want to leave it at coatcheck). I didn't buy it a drink, though: ![]() Enthroned: ![]() Splatt gazes askance at my Flaming Assassin...I discovered that Absinthe and Strawberry taste rather good together! ![]() Godfrey, I only have one photo of you (outside the exhibition) and none of your absolutely gorgeous partner - how disappointing!

What fabulous photos! Oh, how I wished I could have joined you - looks like an amazing day. Perhaps for the next one?
Would it be alright if I reposted some of these at Circa's site?

Wish I was down there with you, but alas spent the weekend cooking a Christmas feast!Hmmm...it seems that cocktails were high on this list of priorities. Glad you got it right! |

Mojito, I applaud your restraint in not running out the door with the Arctic Fox! Imagine how well it would have gone with the Ice Bar!
And Gingermore, love that blouse. You all look very festive and fun. Wish I was there!

If I'd known about the visit to the Ice Bar beforehand, Miss 1929, I might indeed have tried to run out with the fox fur! As it is, I've been fantasizing about it ever since...I look a bit goofy in it in the photo above, but there are some great photos of SuperKawaiiMama who wore it to the opening of the exhibition. I have a silver and gold beaded pale 20s dress I think it might look lovely with.
Splatt, let me know if you'd like me to send you higher res versions of the Ice Bar shots. Yes, many cocktails. Many, many cocktails. Jill and I walked down to Young & Jacksons as soon as we'd checked in to drink with Chloe...I'll put a couple of photos up on the blog. Splatt took all the good Circa photos, Madame Circa, but you're welcome to use any of mine. Splatt, can I borrow one or two as well? Swingdag, I caught your comment in the other thread - you didn't come across as abrupt at all! You were with a crowd and very busy - I was just delighted you came up to say hello. We weren't long with the demo because we were worried about the long entry cue and the fact that we knew Godfrey was waiting, but it was great fun and it looked like everyone was having a swell time.

Thank you for the permissions! I've posted about it to Circa and added a few of the pics as well as a link. You can see it here
Does anyone want to add The Gin Palace to the next one? They're always in need of well dressed customers.

Thanks for the photos Mojito and splatt. They look great. Well it looks like I missed out on some fun at the end of the night. It turns out I somehow mis-read my train timetable (something to do with cocktails...) and ended up having to wait at the station for about 45 minutes. Unfortunately, the only place open at the train station was an ugly bar full of thumping music and the footy crowd! None too pleased, however I did manage to have an intelligent conversation with a lovely man who was soon off to the states to chase roller coaster rides.

Here you go sixsexsix. I felt exactly the same when I saw it.
These knits are so sweet but, a word of warning, I have bought a few and they are not particularly well made - don't expect them to last a long time. However, I purchased the one in the photos with full knowledge of this because it is just so cute, and I don't regret it. |

I didn't catch the fact that you'd found the cloche at Circa, Gingermore! It was just so utterly perfect with everything else you had on that day (I don't think I even got around to telling you how much I liked your floral necklace).
Madame Circa, we did toss up going to the Gin Palace! Fi gave me a bar guide, and she'd actually written it in as it wasn't included with the rest. I forget why we didn't make it there. Hope you all go and post the photos! Splatt, I'm housesitting for a couple of weeks so don't have access to the original files on the photos - I'll send you higher res images as soon as I can. Just PM me your preferred email address. I have a couple of other shots as well (including you with the technicolour hurricane glass - its only decent use was as a prop!).
