I'm loving all the suggestions.

Lucy has been a huge influence on me,she's definitely one of the reasons I love redheads.In fact,I identify with her the most.My hubby and I get Lucy and Ricky comments all the time and are always flattered.
Still,always looking for new inspiration.

This image is a repost,but you can see what I mean.

By the way,I think other than red hair and a penchant for full skirts I don't think I look like her.Wish I had her eyes.

When I was a wee thing during the late 40's and early 50's, Hollywood redheads were in, especially those with long red hair. Check out all those bible dramas that were made -- redheads, all the bad girls were redheads.

I was fascinated with redheads, here were two of them around at the time:

How about Julianne Moore from "The End of the Affair"? Not exactly a vintage star, but she looked perfect in that movie and the costumes were stunning. The screenwriter, director, and producer sucked the soul out of Greene's masterpiece, but if you put the tv on mute about halfway through at least you get to watch Julianne and Ralph be gorgeous together without wanting to throw the television out the window.

I love the choices and the pics,keep 'em coming.Wouldn't you love it if that style of photography made a comeback?
I also love the fashion photography of the 40s/50s.

Love the Ann-Margaret pic.That hair would do a 40s Veronica inspired do or 50s bouncy ponytail easily.I think it would take 2 or 3 years for me to get that much length,though.

I loved Julianne's look in that movie.She looked so elegant.The 40s look good on her.

I love Rita Hayworth's locks! She was known as aredhead when she becamse famous but she was naturally dark haired.

I am definitely feeling inspired.
What I've really noticed is a lack of fringe in the forties.I've seen them in hairstyling books,but not on very many stars.

I am starting a huge project in the new year and image is everything.(Which explains why I've been so obsessive)
The look needs to be creative and versatile,but still pretty.
Thanks so much for your help ladies and your inspiring pics. They helped me decide.
I am hoping that by the end of next year to have a style that resembles Rita Hayworth with a few adaptions.(I have a lot of growing to do)
For the creative edge I am going with a red that has a 40's technicolor feel to it.
