I'm glad you like them. I found them in the Library of Congress' prints and photographs collections.

I noticed in one of those '38 Chicago photos, where it looks like they're at a theater, looks like there's a lobby card display or something at the bottom for "The Philadelphia Story." |

Yeah, those are people leaving a black theater in Chicago. I'm guessing that's what was showing. I had it wrong, too. That picture was from 1940.
