I'm glad you like them. I found them in the Library of Congress' prints and photographs collections.

If you go straight to the fotki album, you can download the originals that are higher resolution, which may work better for your scrapbook.

Those photos are great! Thanks for posting them!

I noticed in one of those '38 Chicago photos, where it looks like they're at a theater, looks like there's a lobby card display or something at the bottom for "The Philadelphia Story."

Yeah, those are people leaving a black theater in Chicago. I'm guessing that's what was showing. I had it wrong, too. That picture was from 1940.
