USO One not to miss

Maxwells is having a USO show next month, so if you have a uniform bring it along.

I'll be there.

update

Greetings,

After two wonderful years at the Argyle Hotel, the time has come to
move on.
Recent modifications to the hotel by the new owner have changed the
venue
into something not quite suitable for a vintage 1940's nightclub. In
addition, the Fenix Restaurant will close for the next several weeks
while
the renovation continues.

The final two Monday evenings will be held in Argyle Hotel's lovely
Terrace
Room.

May 24th
The 14-piece Jonathan Stout Orchestra featuring Hilary Alexander. A
Salute
to the USO and members of the Armed Forces. Vintage military attire
invited.
This evening will be presented in the style of the WWII wartime radio
broadcasts, with live commercials and sketches, plus The Big Jitterbug
Contest - $300 cash prizes and trophies awarded to the winning couples.

May 31st
It's the bee's knees! An Evening from the Roaring Twenties with Mora's
Modern Rhythmists 1920's Dance Orchestra featuring an encore
performance of
"Egyptian Ella" by the Hollywood Hornets and a jazz hot dance number by
DeMille's Dizzy Debs.

Dinner reservations will fill quickly, call today to reserve your table
at
323-848-6677.

Maxwell's at the Argyle: http://www.maxwelldemille.com/nightclub

As of today, I have begun the search for a new location that will have
a
spacious wooden dance floor, good air conditioning, plenty of free or
cheap
parking and historic architecture. Watch the website for upcoming news!

And don't miss The Second Annual Avalon Ball with Mora's Modern
Rhythmists
Dance Orchestra on October 23rd at Catalina Island. More info at
http://www.avalonball.com

See you Monday,
Mr. DeMille
