Very reminiscent of the coat worn by German Uhlans before and during the First World War: Manfred von Richthofen wore one before he was a pilot. The design was also used by early chauffeurs.

Very interesting, thank you. The buttons had a very military look. I've also seen police jackets with such buttons. Anyone holds a Buco catalogue from the early 50s ?

Think this is a repro of an original WW2 jacket.

Jings, if that's a repro it's either been worn very hard, or they've given it a pre-distressing treatment. That's the sort of thing, though, yes - very common style of German motorcycle jacket made between the wars, and often worn by Luftwaffe pilots as pp items (the Luftwaffe never issued a leather jacket afaik, though they did issue a sheepskin version of the Kanal Jacke later in the war).
