How heavy in weight is a filson wool coat compared to traditional 32oz pea coat?

for two years Ive been staring at the Filson packer wool coat with the shearling shaw collar. I'm also trying to find a good pea coat. I know the styles are different, but I really like the weight on the old style military issue 32oz pea coats. The Filson is a 24 ounce weight, but from myexperience with leather coats, its not just the ounce weight, its also how many layers they use, any extra layers aded to the trim...etc, etc.

Any idea how the two compare?

I have a double Mackinaw Cruiser and it's nice, but is not a wind stopper. If you want to be warm in the wind, you have to layer underneath it.

The vintage peacoats, before 1980, have a tight weave (in the Kersey wool) that stop the wind. It never gets inside the coat to strip the warmth from one's body.
