This question is a bit out of the ordinary for this forum, but I have a nice western straw that I bought in Weslaco, TX when I worked at Texas A&M University. It has an essentially flat brim (about 4") in Texas style. The very front of the brim has been flexed too much and the finish has lost its stiffness, so there's a downward dip in the brim for the outer inch or so. I can straighten it but can't get it to stay flat, although there's no damage to the straw. If there were a fixative or finish I could spray on the outer part of the brim, I could easily block it in place while the finish dried. Can anyone suggest an appropriate finish material or other fix for this problem? Thanks.
