Salv started the "Name The Tune" game thread. I don't know if this has been done before, but here's another version of it.

Someone posts a movie quote.
The first person to guess who said it and the movie it came from, then has to post another quote. Etc, etc.
Let's try to keep the quotes pre-1960, and try to make them reasonably well known.

I'll start with an easy one:

“A hot dog at the ball park is better than steak at the Ritz.”

What happened to this thread????

There have been a few of these 'name that tune' sort of threads - vintage songs, aircraft interiors, etc. I thought this one would've taken off.

All right everyone, try this movie quote:

"...here we have three cures for everything - quinine, iodine, and castor oil."

I know that one: Mogambo!

OK, here's a bit of an obscure one, from a movie I've recently watched:

"Of course, he was a Harvard graduate. That might be grounds for justifiable homicide."

Bingo!

BTW, Mike, after our conversation about the Akubra Riverina, I have to go and watch Mogambo again...unless by your mastery of screen caps you could post a few pics of those hats of which you wrote!

That was Cagney (Tom Powers) from The Public Enemy.

...and stop feeding that chimp bubblegum!

Jack I'll try to get the Mogambo pics emailed to you soon, along with a few from some other movies for inspiration.

Well, back to the quotes....

James Cagney from Lady Killer.

How 'bout this one. "If you touch me, I'll call a cop. If I touch you, you'll call an ambulance."

You sir are correct.

I believe the New York quote is from The Lady from Shanghai and was uttered by one Mr.Orson Welles.
