Taking a cue from the side panel lettering, I found the following in the search engine:
"The Rytecraft Scootacar was a British microcar built by the British Motorboat Manufacturing Company in London between 1934 and 1940. The company later changed its name to BMB Engineering. It is possible that some might have been assembled after 1945.”

Our remaining example was a car lot, but has just reopened as a jerk shop. My wife was kind enough to explain to me what that was.

Think there's any neon on the "Bowl" or "Coffee Shop" sign? Looks like the "Bowl" part might - if not, it (and the "Coffee Shop") should have it.
The oddly common all-white uniform to work with grease. And dandy boy there with his belted-back jacket and spectators had better be careful or his white trousers will get dirty.
Most photos of gas stations where mechanics are at work are promotional.
Some do capture "on the job" activity.
