For my money the best band to come out of the UK for a long time....

Their sound is so authentic it’s fooled a lot of people into thinking they were listening to original recordings from the late 40s/early 50s.

To echo Chas’s point - strictly speaking this isn’t “rockabilly” of course but “Hillbilly” - Country music c.1945-55, on the cusp of spawning rockabilly (for me “rockabilly” means the stripped-down form of this music - no steel no fiddle - popularized by Elvis, Carl Perkins etc from the mid 50s)

This is excellent! They're great! :eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap Gotta order an album. The guy on the fiddle seems familiar... Is that you ? ;)

Edit: Album just ordered!

Man, I dig that! And they're British?! (Ok, just joking...sort of.) I mean, they sound like the real McCoy! Do you know if their discs are available in the States? And, yes, they are more hillbilly.

Count me as into 1950s rock and roll/rockabilly too. My favorites are the following:

Bill Haley & The Comets (One of the most fun groups to listen to)
Johnny Cash (I like his more country work too)
Duane Eddy (twangy guitar, what's not to like about his style?)
Elvis Presley (Almost self explanatory, but I like his vocal style and music)
Buddy Holly (Another great, iconic artist of the 1950s, good vocals and music)

This list really sums it up, but don't forget the early Sun Recordings of Roy Orbison!

Ebay, ebay, ebay. Or alternatively, Etsy, Etsy, Etsy. Nearly all my vintage comes from those two places and is far cheaper than repro.

Etsy is my new best friend for vintage. Just got a dreamsicle-orange 50s dress nipped at the waist for a STEAL. Glad to hear that others rely on it, too.

I used to dig Holly, Haley, and Presley as well, along with Setzer. I caught this video about a month ago...the tune and the showmanship (for 1960) is incredible. As one of my friends said: "It's like they wrote the book on rock"

...I'm assuming the drummer is a jazz-head.

Not sure if it was already mentioned...but The Burnette Brothers anyone?
Johnny and Dorsey could rock it!
Unfortunately, Dorsey went weird in his solo career...being a born again christian may have been wonderful for him, but it destroyed his ability to write.
"Let's Fall in Love" and "The Train Kept-A-Rollin" will make anyone want to brawl at a soda shop.

Groups taking up my computer memory (rockabilly and psycho):
Koffin Kats (that mans voice is god-like)
Rev Horton Heat
Johnny Cash
Roy Orbison
The Nekromantix
Mad Sin
The Van Orsdels
The Rocketz
The Chop Tops
The Quakes
Phantom Rockers
Mad Marge and The Stonecutters (RIP)

Anyone ever listen to The Amazing Royal Crowns? They are 90's but one of my faves as well as The Cramps for (slightly) modern rockabilly and psychobilly...

At first I thought they were Hawaiian boys, but found out that they're Indonesians who later migrated to the Netherlands! They were very famous in that part of Europe. Two of the brothers are still alive. Man, are they rocking!

I just started to get into Rockabilly. I always listen to Big Band or Swing. I'm getting use to the rockabilly sound. I lived in Virginia for 3 years, and learned the roots of the music. I'm also getting into old country I enjoy the stories in the music.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of early rockabilly like Maddox Borther & Rose, Hardrock Gunter, Johnny Jano.
This is my favorite song, at the moment.

I'm really enjoying Billy-Jack Wills - Cadillac in a Model A and Bottle Baby Boogie.

Bobs lesser known brother.
