I used to live just a couple of blocks from here (29th @ 6th Ave. NYC). A lovely tranquil spot, a bit of the 19th century, still standing, surrounded by the Megapolis.

My apartment is in a very Art Deco building, or to be more accurate, it's a Stream lined Moderne building. And there is a gorgeous mosaic of Diana the Huntress in the lobby (which I'm pretty sure I've posted pics of before).
Anyway, I've been wanting a Diana the Huntress piece of art for a long time, AND a mirror for the dining room.
Well, I found this on the 'Bay recently, and finally got it up on the wall. I'm not sure but I suspect it's either late 30's or even early 40's, which would be just about spot on.
Here she is. I'm in love.

And closer up. You can see how the image is either painted or etched or some combination, onto the glass.

Picked this up at an antique mall south of me on my way to visit Mom. No idea who the artist is, but it went well in that corner.

Wow! Cool! Is it a painting or a print? Is there any signature? Looks like a candidate for Antiques Road Show.

I'm pretty sure it's a print. There's a signature in the lower left, but it's covered by the frame and the back is sealed. I'm also fairly certain the frame isn't vintage either, but no matter, I liked it well enough and it's much better than what I had hanging there before.

We inherited this from my parents and it hung in their home for as long as I can remember. My mother picked this up at an auction in the 1950's and I know absolutely nothing about it other than that. There is no signature that I have been able to find and the canvas is dry and cracked in a couple of spots. Can anyone point me to a source in St. Louis or Chicago where I could get it identified, appraised and repaired? Thanks!

My wife and I tend to rotate the pictures on our walls over time and based on slight decorating changes. We have family photos on shevles, a few carved masks, and my wife's collection of vintage paint-by-numbers. A recent acquisition I am thrilled to have is Dark Wave/Rising Sun by Shepard Fairey. This signed limited edition run of 700 sold out in approx 5 minutes. The profits go to the Japanese Red Cross.

I have lots of vintage repro advertising prints, coca cola, schweppes, etc. Several pin up mounted photos: Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Bettie Page, Burlesque, etc. Other odd vintage paintings and photos, b-movie posters, etc.

I got this printed for my boyfriend for his Christmas present. He took this photo about a year ago and it recently won a oil-themed photo contest at the Art Gallery of Alberta.

The other one we have up is this photo I took. We got it blown up at Staples.

It describes us pretty well, I think.

Being a visual artist myself by trade, my hanging art collection consists of mostly my own work, and a few choice originals from friends and fellow regional artists. My most prized piece is a large late nineteenth century watercolor from the Hudson River Valley. I also have an ever growing contemporary pottery collection I'm very proud of.

Of the artwork I've currently got hanging up, it includes mostly landscapes (Perez, Byrne, Askins), along with a couple of tasteful nudes. Notable nods to the past include photos of JFK and RFK chatting, Jack Webb, Gen. Lewis "Chesty" Puller, and Howard Duff. An 8 x 10 DC3 also hangs in my study.

Her name is Evelyn, she was painted by David Uhl, the official painter of vintage subjects for Harley Davidson. He live in Golden, Colorado. Since I have two 30s Harley V-Twins, I had to have it. As with all his paintings, there is a story to go with it. seems Evelyn was on her way to watch a motorcycle hill climb when she was pulled over foe speeding. As you can see, she is impatient and wants to get to the race! I have always liked the way the riders dressed back then, very stylish! I also like how David does not go for the usual nude Harley style of painting, that is often quite vulgar, Evelyn is pure class.

Here's a little bit of what's in mine.
Hope you enjoy

Stearmen, that's a gorgeous picture. I love that kind of illustration.

I hang my own, mostly, since hanging them is the only way to store them :) I copy some works from artists I like and also have some of my portraits hanging.
