Really late to the party tonight. I've been binge watching Ken Burns Viet Nam (it has been sitting on TIVO) so my attention to the lounge posts is divided. Wore the Echter Borsalino to campus today. We had a film crew from Oregon Public Broadcasting in the archives getting footage of some of our college history. I'll probably end up on the cutting room floor, but I did get some camera time.

If I missed anyone tonight, my humble apologies, Mr. Burns has me distracted. Everybody has put on a super show today.

I was just young enough that the war was over by my enlistment in the USAF. Just barely... I sat and watched Nixon resign and 10 minutes later I was being sworn into the military.
Vietnam Vet? Thanks for serving. The "Dick" couldn't resign fast enuff. Saw that resignation as well. Pulled a 350+ something in the draft lottery my HS senior year so I didn't have any worries and could still be a kid for a few years.

Love the Panizza Karl, it goes well with your coat... but then they all do!

Always love to see this great Homburg. The matching ribbon and contrasting brim binding is a good look. The liner logo is cool too. I'd be taking it off to look at it all the time.

10! and a 7.6 from the Russian Judge.

Stunning David. Matching ribbon is a nice feature.

Nice color combo Bob. Sweet Strat.

I like the color with the matching ribbon. Nice crease, brim snap.
Thanks Mike.

Garfinckel's was quite the swanky place back in the day. As a DC area native, this one holds a special place in my heart. My grandmother used to take me there. Of course, by the '70s and '80s, most of its glory had passed.

Here's a nifty write-up about Garfinckel's. Figure you might dig it since you are a history digger. Mr. Garfinckel was quite a fascinating and eccentric fellow. http://www.streetsofwashington.com/2012/11/garfinckels-washingtons-fashion-arbiter.html?m=1
I really, really like that one !!

all black today. c.1920s Schwarz. had to force a happy look, mourning a tragic loss of my father in law yesterday. Hug your significant others, children, siblings, pets for me on this day. Give all the love you can, because in the end, that is all we have

That Marathon and Jacket are a great combo. Love the brim on that lid.
Thanks Red. This is one of the few of my hats that seems to be equally happy brim up or down.

Michael, that Marathon looks like it was made just for you! Excellent . Love the Harris Tweed too

Thanks Robert and Robert. I have to say it is one of my better fitting hats, both in actual fit and in color. A very comfortable wear. I'm a big fan of Harris Tweed too. I might have a half dozen jackets and a couple of overcoats made from it. Wish I could run across of a few of their more exotic patterns, and the older heavyweight stuff.

Thanks all,
Michael

Very sorry for your loss. Will do just that. Think about him often and support each other in these difficult times.

After grown-upping this morning, went by the imitation palatial estate for casualizificationifying.

Grabbed a '50s Dobbs. No price or other designation on the sweat or crown-tip, simply Dobbs.

Two top drawer hats before I switch off and turn on Ireland Vs Denmark world cup 2018 qualifier play-off. We'll probably snatch defeat from the jaws of victory as usual so good to switch on with some more positive images burning my retina.
