Hi

Guys, if you want to have an interesting Halloween sometime, dress as a priest. You can get some bizarre ideas from the young lady's confessions... :eeek: It was in the 1980's and I've forgotten most of them by now. The wife went as a nun, but didn't get the same discussions a priest did.

I've been working on my costume since May. You may recognize the character:

Made some boots too. I've weathered them since the photo was taken:

The boots are actually glued to together. No stitching of any kind. You start with a base boot, remove the uppers and start covering the "shoe" with leather. You have to make your own uppers and bells. This is the basic idea here: http://www.sithcamaro.com/boottut/index.htm , but I changed it to have the toe portion covering the heel for a smoother look. I'll PM the progress photos to you if you're interested.

Thanks Marcus, but the link you put is good enough. I'm not doing those (yet anyway). I may go a bit more cowboy since I live in Kansas, but I always did like D'Artagnan.

No problem...I did realize that I explained my version wrong. I actually made the uppers and heel one piece. The tutorial shows a 4 piece boot..toe, heel, upper and bells. More work and more points that could come apart eventually. Good luck!

Very nice! Are you going to do some prosthetics under the mask? The other, similar, one I've considered sometime is Michael Myers....

I'd considered buying a kit from a guy on another message board for a prosthetic bulging/dead eye, but ultimately decided to just stick with the mask. I'm already a big bald guy, so I have it pretty much down. I did mock up a blood-splattered machete, though, using some theatrical blood and a Wal-Mart grade plastic machete. I put the blood into a bargain-bin perfume bottle and then blasted it in order to mimic arterial spray. I'm not sure if I'm satisfied with that, though, or if I want to build more up around the edge of the blade to make it look like it's gone into something(one) as opposed to just doing some perfunctory chopping.

Mirror Man?!

I saw this unusual costume and noticed the character was wearing a fedora! I bet no one has a lid quite like this gentleman:

You probably can't move around too much wearing these many mirrors, so I suppose the best you can do is stand around . . . and reflect on society!

One of my favorites too! My friends and I had been planning this theme for a while. We're all animators, and it was about time we dressed like cartoons characters for Halloween! Your avatar happens to be from my favorite Daffy cartoon by the way!

Outstanding! :eusa_clap But no Doris Standpipe??? :D
We couldn't find one in time, or a purple runabout for that matter. Still had fun quoting the cartoon all throughout the night anyway!
