This is the first nice leather jacket I have ever owned to date. My previous ones have all been made in......well, it doesn't matter. I now own a Lost Worlds FQHH Pea Coat in Black and I'm on top of the world! My dealings with Stuart very very business-like and pleasant. He was a total professional in every respect. The workmanship on this jacket is amazing. I am totally in awe of it. I am also in awe of the stiffness of 4.5 oz. FQHH! He had recommended 3 - 3.5 oz., but I wanted the thickest he had. He was happy to oblige. I firmly believe this jacket may save my life if I ever happen to be shot or stabbed one day!For me, the weight isn't an issue at all and according to the packing slip, it weighs about 8 lbs. I'm excited about getting it broken in and I'll get some pictures posted as soon as I can get someone to take them. To all of the guys on here who have given their advice freely - THANK YOU. I have learned a lot from all of you.

Seb: 8 pounds really isn't that bad. My latest Johnson Leathers motorcycle jacket is almost 7 pounds, as is my Vanson. My Aero Highwayman is almost as heavy as the Johnson and the Vanson. I don't feel the weight and don't think 8 lbs. would be that much of a burden. The stiffness of the 4.5 HH would be the negative factor for me.

I have had my eye on the Lost Worlds leather peacoat, but thought it would be more leather than I wanted to deal with in a non motorcycle jacket. Didn't know Stuart would do it in a 3.0 to 3.5 oz. leather. Now that I know, that gives it a new perspective. After I get my Johnson Leathers MC jacket broken in . . . .

Hey Nabottle:

Show us some photos!!!! I own some LW jackets and I have always been curious how the collars lay on the Leather peacoats as well as the fit. If you get a chance put up some shots. I don't think anyone has ever put up any photos of the LW Peacoat. Agree on the thicker leather it takes awhile to break in but damn they are cool... and super waterproof.

Thanks a lot Butte! I really appreciate the input.
I really want a jacket like that. Most likely, in brown. My son's LW jacket is also cut very well. Stuart seems to know how to do wide shoulders and trim waists. Is there room for more than a Tee under? How about the lining?

Yes, there is plenty of room underneath to do a little layering. It would be difficult to get a heavy fisherman's sweater underneath, though. I was worried initially at how much room I would have, but based on Stuart's recommendation, I went with this size. He was as right as rain. The lining is a VERY HEAVY DUTY Black Satin. It is much thicker than any satin lining I have ever felt. There are 2 inner pockets along with the 2 outer pockets and they all have a Heavy Velvet-Like material in them. This jacket appear to be indestructible!
