Jeff (Bowlerman's) sleet, ice and snow coming from N. Dakota has arrived in Minnesota. Conditions necessitated closing local schools and as such our business is closed today. Shoveling and generally enjoying the new snow.

+1.

I love the style. During the 40-50's much of the detective film noir was not taken seriousely by film critics. Like many other modern film watchers I do not see the movies as crime or ganster movies, but rather melodramas. It appears from your pics to have all the makings of a great melodrama.

The youthfull actors and actresses appear to be enjoying their roles. Who but the youth can better protray melodrama. The movie prep and filming is making a lifetime experience for these special kids. Cheers to you sir!

Grand pics. Best, Eric -

Nastiest early spring in many years - Eric, I admire your pluck and great photo.

Thank you for your enthusiasm for my old westerns (Joao, I always enjoy the chance to see your photos as well).

Today I wore a Stetson No.1 Quality, which, unlike me, smiles in the face of heavy freezing rain.

Another big brimmed black beauty. How are you keeping these attached to your head?
More nasty wind and rain coming your way--I can hardly keep capped.

Thanks. I did the sweatband replacement on this one and the fit is very true. I've yet to feel it threatened by a good gust (30 or below). I do worry that my neck might be the weak link in the chain. It has a lot of sail area.

I'll try this one--minimizing surface area...

Back from Optimo for sweatband replacement and cleaning--my coordination is not sufficient.

Warm 38'F and the snow is melting. Out for some errands a short bit ago. I wore my VS Stratoliner inspired feodra in dove felt with a charcoal ribbon. Home and need to check on the slow roasting ribs on the barbeque.

Well we're on day three with no power, like 47000 other homes in the area, and the schools are closed for the third day as well. As the joke goes, he'll has in fact frozen over if sioux falls public schools close. 40 degrees in the house so we took off to a hotel, alternating between my falcon park black cherry and brown Knudsen wool bowler. I'm really enjoying these posts!

Robert, that looks remarkably like my Stephen Stetson hat that I've always called a Lord's hat variation. Soft low sugar loaf crown with even unbound curl. I put a pinch in mine, for the sake of variety.
