What a great family picture David. I like the snap on that brim, sweet!

My very first hat, Red. Now six years old and going strong. The felt has softened beautifully.

Give ol' Pearl a pat for me, David. Are you on the Logan's Run set?

Yep, embracing my inner Logan, Jim [emoji1]

A lovely trio, indeed! (Although Pearl's white gloves may be the winning piece!)

Thanks, Charlie. Pearl likes to be stylish at all times.

Cheers!
David

Hadn't seen this old Mallory heathered stingy in the pile for awhile.

Dog walk this morning in the breezy 15'F temps. A Gannon Wanderer (charcoal felt w/frayed ribbon) was my hat of choice.

Home and splitting a small amount of wood into kindling (fire starter). My vtg. Stetson OR De Luxe kept my axe and I company.

Best, Eric -
Aside of the great hat you share on a daily basis, your photos are always a joy. I especially love the angle with the tall pines! You are a treasure Eric.

Thanks Red. The Mallory is a fairly unique felt, in my collection at least. And since you said to keep them coming, it turned into a two stingy day, as opposed to too stingy,

A Resistol Alpha from whatever time a hat like that cost $10.50.

And the reason for the change is that I needed a hat to go with the Brooks Brothers overcoat I found at a thrift this morning.

Beautiful hat! In a former life, I was a wine buyer. One of the very best wines I ever brought into the shop was a red from Ribera del Duero that ran $14. Other bottles ran to $400.

Small world :)
Today we made pizza's on our Uuni oven and our friends brought a Flor de Pingus bottle of wine (the big brother of this Ribera del Duero wine runs around the $800: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominio_de_Pingus )... I must say that I cannot taste the difference between a $50 wine and a $400 one (I don't drink wine often and much less of that price range by the way!)...
Comfy hat for me today...

Guests arriving a bit ago so I am back inside. The last hour I intended to go and visit our local owl. On the way I got to view a local hawk pick-up dinner and eat. I stayed and watched the feast. Cold outside, but did not notice til I checked the time and knew I had to hoof it back home. Wearing a down parka, Gannon (granite/charcoal ribbon treatment) I was comfy.

Great look Michael! Do you live in a big city with lots of thrift stores? Here in Barcelona we don't have that kind of store (or at least not with that kind of quality garments), but my theory is that in the 50's-60's Spain was a poor country under Franco's dictatorship, not the consumer society that you had in the US at the time, combined with the high quality workmanship which is missing in today's clothes..
