J. Hückel ´s Söhne "Flexible" "Seal Velour", measures 58cm, Crown Open 5 1/2 inches, Brim 2 1/4 inches, probably later 1930s. The Velour on this one is fantastic (molds like clay) and in perfect condition. The color is a Dark Chocolate Brown that absorbs all light so very difficult to photograph. This hat had a Crease Clip because you can see the deep crease is still present in the Crown. Also a very interesting liner that coordinates with the felt color. I couldn't locate a paper label but might be farther up into the crown. What is interesting is that I have J. Hückel ´s Söhne Promo Pocket Mirror from Huthase (from the same time period) with a similar style hat (Color, Form). I am very much looking forward to wearing this hat when cooler temperatures arrive.

J. Hückel´s Söhne "Alpha - Seal Velour", French Point 4 probably mid 1930s. The black Velour felt (very difficult to photograph, absorbs light) is really fantastic (perfect condition) with a beautiful Alpha quality Seal Velour finish. This hat came from the same seller as the J.Hückel´s Söhne "Paltin" and most likely belonged to the same original owner. It also came with an original Hückel box.

The following photographed really shows the quality of the Alpha quality Seal Velour (close sheared with high gloss).

Sandmann Wien XV, measures 58cm, Crown 6 inches, Brim Curled 2 inches maybe 1930s. I believe it's a multi color Wool or a Wool - Fur blend. The felt is really fantastic (colors, finish, hand) most likely a Flamand. It doesn't have any paper label and I believe it had a crown patch at one time. Heinrich Sandmann was Chairman of the Austrian and Vienna Hat Makers associations (as of 1926) but I haven't been able to find any other details. This hat is part one of a two Sandmann Wien XV find. I was contacted by the seller (from Vienna who I have purchased a number of hats from in the past) during by trip so I was able to pick up the hats along the way.

Sandmann Wien XV, Wool, measures 58cm, Crown 6 inches, Brim Curled 2 inches maybe 1930s. The Wool Felts finish is coarse and reminds of some of the Austrian and German Wool Stiff Felts I have that are from the same time period and earlier. The felt has a stiffness to it but still easily dry creases. Also uniquer long bow length is interesting. I really like finding olde Wool Soft Felt hats like this one and the other Sandmann Wien XV.

"NEUHEIT / Novelty" "SPITZENKLASSE / Top Class", measures 58cm, late 1930s. This German Velour arrived recently. I am trying to figure out what company made it but that could prove futile. I really like the color and the Velour has a great finish and hand. Also the hat has a very unique liner design with reed piping.

"Orion", 58cm, Crown 6 inches Open, Brim 2 3/8 inches probably late 1930s. No company mark and most likely made of wool or wool / fur mix. This is a common man's hat that rarely survived. The felt has a great color and shine to it and can be modeled into any shape. Also I really interesting light weight liner.
