Off for Easter errands this morning. Kind of cool, getting better this afternoon. Slim Brim Day! Penn Craft made under license in England by Failsworth. This is an early 60s example of trends in hat making. Short hair finish that makes it shine. For some reason, this is my only hat with a feather. Embrace the Stingy!

The Penn-Craft looks good with a feather, Mike. Seems to fit it well.

Yesterday and tomorrow have been on my mind and so for today i thought i’d offer something special as a token. I’ve never worn this hat and to me it is also a special crown.
A vintage pristine Stetson 7x Clear Beaver Last Drop embroidered liner. To me this is a fine hat worthy of the days.
Be well and Blessed. Bowen
Gorgeous, Bowen. You wear it well (as you do all your hats).

Modest success at an estate sale today. Dobbs Hanover Square (needs a bath), mystery Milan, and mystery pork pie. Frunoliner sits on top (backwards, I realized after I took the pic).

Congrats on the new finds, Jim. Gives you the chance to fiddle about with them for a few days!

This afternoon we attended a memorial service for a church member. Perfect opportunity for the new Stetson Homburg in the 1960s version of a vita-felt finish. I am definitely liking it, very light weight and smooth finish. I will probably wear this one often.

Fine looking hat, Mike. It seems that the later homburgs seem to shrink a bit in proportions; shorter crown with more taper and a smaller brim too.

Unsure about today, but yesterday I was wearing my first borsalino ever. I paid full retail for it then, which I never again did after that. I'm trying to figure out if I will sell it, because it's not a style I would buy today, or hold on to it for sentimental reasons. It never gets worn these days.

Happy Easter everybody.

Great proportions on that Whippet, Michael. And great outfit again.
Thanks Stefan. The Whippet is a fine piece of felt.

It still looks good. How come it has fallen out of favor? Too much heather around? Too many homburgs? Ha ha.

Thanks,
Michael

Thanks for all of the kind words about the last couple of days' hats. For some reason, Tapatalk keeps crashing on me when I try to multiquote and I'm too lazy to respond to each. Both annoy me.

Killer hats out there yesterday. And good kills on Fruno's hunt.

I'm headed to Mass to fight the crowd o' Chreasters under a Dobbs.

Enjoy everything.

And I think I'm going to have to find a heavier overcoat. And maybe my fur cap.

Have a fine day
Michael
I hope that it warms up for you.

I love that Hanover Square. It's one of my favorites of your hats.

Oh... About your post yesterday: I like the hat alot, but man... I absolutely love those yellow shoes.

Thanks Matt. I wish it would warm up some, but the 10 day forecast is very unfavorable for that. Mostly more like 20 degrees below average for the highs.

I think the Hanover Square and your Dobbs for today share a lot of lineage. I'm really liking the binding on yours.

Those shoes are yellow? Dang I was thinking they were mustard. Ha ha. Some H&M cheapies I thrifted the other day.

Thanks,
Michael

Good morning. Enjoying the late winter/early spring crisp weather with a cup of coffee. I was out and about wearing the Knox Vagabond fedora.

Dog walk wearing a VS Wanderer (inspired) fedora. This is a lightweight silver belly felt. The red wool Pendleton jacket I have had since my Boy Scout days. When I say it is vintage, I recognize that I too am vintage.

It is a bit like the proportions of my two British Homburgs, the Battersby and Scottish Forsythe. I do notice a real difference in Homburgs. Someday I need to do a side by side of the different looks.

Happy Easter to all my Lounge friends! Happy Easter is actually an old Moldavian greeting, deriving from the word origin for "Hoppy," which was a Moldavian term for "to put down," and "Keister." The K is silent, so Happy Easter is Moldavian for "Put down your keister," or "have a seat." (Hat tip to Ronnie Graham for that one).

Today I hoppied my keister at Easter vigil under a generous gift from fellow FLer @Michael R., a Dalton Homburg that is as clean as a whistle and soft as a baby's keister.
