Previously owned Montecristi panama hat in plantation style. Very light weight hat. The hat is in excellent condition. The straw has no stains, cracks, separation. The leather sweat band is soft and has only minor crease.
Size Label says 7 1/8
Hat opening: length 7 11/16 inches; width 6 7/16
Brim: Side 3 3/4 not counting the curl; Front/Back 3 1/2 not counting the curl
Crown as bashed: Middle 4 5/8; Front 3 3/4; Back 4 3/8
Sweat band width: 1 1/2
Ribbon width: 1
W.P.S.I. approximately 450. The weave is very tight and even.
No hat box.

This is out of my area of knowledge. I’ve nudged them up fractionally, and changed standard ovals to long ovals, but I’d be afraid to use force to size them up like I have with felt. Someone with more knowledge of Panama hats will have to answer this.

I’ll say this, I’m not going to attempt any more whole size stretches again. I’ll adjust fit, but I’ve ruined my last hat trying to up size a hat.

Well guys I pulled the trigger on this one. It's a bit too small for me and I don't think I would try to stretch it. But honestly, at this price I figure it's going to be a really nice gift.
