I was home the other day and thought I'd get some photos in the sun of the patina on my ol' faithful jackets. First up is my FQHH Aero Halfbelt. Each wrinkle, mark and colir variation tells the story of an adventure enjoyed:

Next up is a Brando-style jacket I bought about 20 years ago from a 'cycle shop in my home town. It's a heavy steerhide, R-Jays brand. Interestingly, the label says "Made in Pakistan," which I'd never bothered to take note of before. I have to admit that if this is the quality of leather goods made there, they must know their stuff and then some. This jacket has been all over Europe and Australia's east with me. It's a tough beast. I bought it long before I'd ever heard of this Lounge or Aero, Thedi, LW etc, but man I love this jacket. We've had a lot of fun together.

That FQHH glows with aesthetic goodness. It's such a photogenic hide. Must find a half-belt too. I remember seeing an R Jay's jacket around and I may even have had one at one point. The problem with being a serial jacketizer is that you forget some of their names....

It's a good time of the year to take photos out in the natural light. The sunlight was just perfect to show the toning in the brown CXL & highlight all the creases that make it mine.

Fabulous character and beauty to this half belt. Thank you for sharing!
I absolutely love seeing photos of aged cxl or chrome tanned hides.
It’s really special knowing these well made classic pieces tell a life story.
That is a huge part of the appeal for me.

I'm glad u enjoyed seeing them Sweetfights. There are so many greats pics put up by guys in this forum that I've appreciated and I thought it would be fun to try to capture the character of the old warhorses to share with everyone.

You can see some lighter areas developing in the leather, almost a yellow tone breaking through here and there in the honey-orange colour and it looks great. It's very different than horsehide, just as heavy but not as stiff. I'm really enjoying wearing it as much as possible this winter.

Very tempting to do just that Willyto! I work in an office during the week with suit and tie, and the weekends are not enough time to wear my leather jackets!
