Have a fine Thursday,

Dohh...another mystery solved! DohhYes, it's tacked on. As I recall it still works as a trolley, but you have to throw the loop around a button rather than the button through a button hole.
Thanks,
Michael
The places I go are quite safe. I can say I am always the dangerous man there LOLHey, Fabio, do you ever feel unsafe while hiking over there?
Are there no bandits, or outlaws around? You said it was brazil before, right?

Stefan, Thank you! Great series of Panamas from you today!
Steve, Mike, thanks! I'm getting the most out of my panamas this summer, that's for sure.Very nice Serge, love the pug.
It is wonderful that you have such a nice stable of Panamas. I hear there is an unusual heat wave in Europe. We are breaking records with the temps here.
Very cool, Steve. I did check if I have any hats in the collection with those initials, but no luckP. & C. Habig Wien "Spezial Qualität" from 1957. This one is an export model for the Swedish market and in mint condition. It was either factory blocked or shop blocked. The size and position of the side dents are typical of the time period and markets. I have many 1950s era P. & C. Habig Wien Homburgs which were very popular in Germany and Austria.
On the right is Konrad Adenauer first Chancellor of West Germany who was famous for wearing a Homburg Hat during the 1950s. The hat directly below is his Homburg Hat and the prize of the Gotisches Haus (Gothic House) Hat Museum, Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, Germany collection.
He wore his Homburg without side dents.
I was able to see the inside of the well worn hat and discovered that it was a P. & C. Habig Wien "Export Qualität" Homburg and not a German made Homburg. The museum was side tracked by the store name "Hellings Bonn, Germany". Adenauer's initials (Dr. K. A.) are on the sweatband.
The Chinese invent their own natural materials, MikeThe heat has driven me to put the Byrnie Utz Capas funky hat thingy on to go get the mail. I haven't weighed it yet, but I would guess less than 3 oz. It does say "natural materials" but I wonder what? It is from China for Pete's sake.

Super colours, Bob. Lovely!View attachment 130184
VS OR clone this morning.
Very nice, Mike. Most of the looks are from people who wish they'd have the stones to wear one themselves.Out for a while this morning while it is bearable. Decided the hazy sunshine (forest fire smoke) deserved a Boater. The general un-hatted public always provide "looks". Early 1950s Dobbs,

Fantastic colour, Jim. A beauty.1940s-ish (?) J.C. Penney Marathon. I'm unsure when they stopped using this logo.

Is there an apply form I can fill out? When I am elected President of these Great United States, I shall nominate you as Special Envoy to the EU, hat division. Then if Daniele can secure a similar spot, we can have special missions to secure hat treaties and I can fly you around on AF1 for these things. You and Daniele can go on missions and expense them!

Temps coming down means felt weather, Mike. You know it's what you want.Last day for our heat wave, temps are going down for a couple of days tomorrow. Went casual with the Dobbs Milan c.1960.

Stefan, Thanks! If I visit again I will check the size.Very cool, Steve. I did check if I have any hats in the collection with those initials, but no luck
Looks like Herr Adenauer was your size and not mine anyway.
