Aero trucker...

Despite expecting a trimmer fit in the body...it still fits “like a highwayman” and has a boxy look...maybe the CXL will calm down a bit as it breaks in and drape better.

Aero hit most of the measurements I gave them. Were short .5” in length but I guess that’s within tolerance and I think the length fits fine.
Shoulders came in spot on...but here again...this jacket has nearly the same measurements as my Trucker except just 1” larger P2P but feels significantly larger wearing it.
Any smaller and I wouldn’t have any mobility in my shoulders.

I like it...the wife, not so much. She didn’t respond to it the way she did the Trucker, she was like “ehh looks like every other jacket you’ve bought then sold”...LOL can’t please everyone.
Anyway...Aero did mess up the thread. I asked for Olive contrast stitching and this had black thread.

Ya, the more I wear it it seems to be looking less boxy and starting to shape to me better. These pics were literally right out of the box. I think it fits pretty well.
Wish it had the olive stitching I ordered but all else I’m pretty happy with. Definitely has a “cool” factor. Classic black leather jacket. Love the look of the dark, shiny, black CXL.

Happy break in! This looks super cool, I like the zippers on the outer sleeves too,
That looks great overall! Hope to see you break this is and drape to your body better! There's always the hot water treatment if you want to speed it up. . .

Was this a direct order or through TB? How did they handle the error on the stitching?
Direct. I just received it today. Not sure yet. I emailed Holly and let her know but received an auto reply saying they are closed for the holidays until after the first of the year. So...it’ll be a bit before I hear back.

How is the weight/feel? How does it compare to their goat? It looks good. Anything you’d change?

I don't know yet. I'm only hoping it is better than the goatskin. Hmm maybe I should have just picked a regular button hole construction but I'm gifting it so it doesn't bother me lol. It's being shipped today so if all goes well with shipping then I should have it by the weekend or early next week.

Gotcha...well follow up here when you receive it. I still haven’t heard anything about my 5* G1 (AN-6552) remake, except that the first collar didn’t pass QC. Since then nothing....hopefully I’ll hear something soon.

Will do, I already received the antique brass donut buttons so just waiting on the jacket to complete the look. Hopefully, Shawn emailed me twice today but he didn't email me for a week before then

I’m gonna give the 42 a try... The 38 is for guys like 5’7” to 5’9”... way too short in the body and arms for me. I guess if the 42 is loose, I can always send it to aero to get taken in. They can’t exactly add length to a 38...

If you order a custom jacket from Aero, you can specify the body length and sleeve length of the jacket with no problem at all (it's even returnable if this is the only modification you make). Don't base your decision by the size tag when you buy from Aero as it is all over the place depending on the pattern. Ask for actual jacket measurements to get the most ideal fit for your physique. All the best, cheers.

^^ this!
Find the size with the P2P range and closest shoulder width that fits you, then either add or subtract body and sleeve length to fit.

You can change/modify other measurements such as shoulders, which is what I did on mine, because you’ll find that in the premier line up the shoulders run very narrow, which is an entirely other topic to discuss. but modifying anything besides body and sleeve, as it’s been already pointed out, renders the jacket non returnable.

In my personal experience with CXL, it is better a little more room than too tight, as too tight can be an absolute pain to break in.
Also, the saying that the first day you get your leather jacket it’s the worst it will look is never more true than a FQCXLHH jacket.
You’re in for a treat.

Ya, 2 days in and it’s already looking better. And the smell!!!
I have had several CXL jackets in both steer and horse. But man, it’s been a couple years and I forgot how brand new CXL smells. It’s intoxicating. More than any other leather jacket in my closet (there currently are 6, 3 of which are new)
The smell of the CXL overpowers them all. Not only my closet, but my entire room smells like leather.
It’s brilliant.

Holly finally got back to me regarding the stitching.
Even though we discussed it in email and she acknowledged that she made a mistake and left my request off the final spec sheet, I approved the final spec sheet without it listed, so she told me basically that there was nothing they could or would do about it.
