Sears Herc I got from Terry. I made it into a winter jacket...The lining was shot, so I got two yards of of wool-backed quilted lining fabric from Greg Field some time ago, just when he was starting out. Great guy that he is, se sold it to me at cost. Unbeknownst to me, the tailor I used (not Dena), lined the whole jacket in it - body, sleeves, pocket bags, the works. Turns out it works pretty good - testing it out in Poland right now at 0 C, and it works with just a henley underneath - whole day of walking around and keeps me warm. Got lucky that the cut of the Herc is quite boxy and the sleeves are wide enough to accommodate the thick quilted lining. I probably would not recommend this treatment to any jacket, but if the lining is totally shot on your project, and shoulders and sleeves have room, you might want to consider. Toasty!

Looks great! I'm a fan of quilted linings, but yeah not sure about it in the pockets!

How do you like the quality of the Pikes Brothers jacket? Of course nothing beats the Iron Heart version, but it does come with a hefty price tag.

I haven’t handled the IH version (or any other N1 jacket for that matter) so I don’t have much to compare with, but I think it holds up pretty well.
Quality of material and construction is solid. It’s warm and comfortable. Only complaint is the neck hole could’ve been a bit bigger. But that’s a small issue.
