I use to when I lived in the hills of Northern England, have me a pair of repro ww2 Gegirgsjager boots, the snow clumps up a goodun due to freezing to the metal studs/cleats even if you add alot of grease around them.... but the grip they give is immense
I'm not sure if the RAF had a veterinary section as such tbh ;)
what are you doing in it/to it to get it all matted up? soap and water I'd have thought to clean it and by wear down at the cuffs do you mean malting like a dog or just pressed more flat? posting photos may help get answers....

I went there a few weeks back, I live 40miles or so away and finally pulled my finger out n went n hand a looksie.... looking on google maps the actual entrance does look very very low key so I went where lots of cars were parked the other side of the building but alas that was the deliveries...
