I remember when it was a thing, but I think it was on after my bed time. Or, my folks just didn't want to watch it. Only one TV in the house, when I was a kid.
My Scala came from the factory with the liner glued in place. My Biltmore, on the other hand, has tape. Even the factories are cludging things, these days.
