Bruce: That depends on things like shirt size, fabric width, matching pattern (if cloth is patterned). Looking at your picture you need a bigger size I guess. Following is from a 40s shirt pattern I have:

Thank you guys! Well apprenticeship is going well... but I´ve really made a lot of shirts before... at least about the last 7 I´ve made meet my recent requirements ;) It´s the hand sewing that give me some hard times... and there are a lot of hand stitches in mens tailoring. A few years...

Finished yesterday... needs to be ironed properly: US Army style shirt with darted back. Brown buttons come from a similar 1940s shirt in unwearable condition.
