    My First Aero

The kangaroo leather is about as thick as the FQH but it feels more dense then both the horse and the steer. Its not as soft and flexible as the goat but more flexible then the FQH. Unless I miss my guess my jacket will look a bit like a buttoned wayfarer with its western yolk. I love the longer...

    My First Aero

As far as i know the kangaroo is still a go at Aero. Looking a the sample sent to me I would say the color is a dark matte brown almost seal. with some hints of reddish orange in the grain. I loved the density and the matte finish of the kangaroo. Also i have a bison vest, an elk hide jacket, a...

    My First Aero

Gentlemen and ladies of the FL, I have ordered my first Aero. I have long been a devotee of the thrift store treasure, the secondhand masterpiece that fits like the old friend. So what you may ask could have brought a bin rummager like me to drop over 600 quid on a brand spanking new jacket? A...

Why is there a yoke and seam on inside sleeve at biceps on some jackets

If your talking about what I think your talking about. That patch could be an underarm gusset. I had them put on my Wested raiders to improve over the head arm mobility. Also after checking I have them on several of my vintage jackets.

    Hat Shops in London?

For the money its the best hat they sell. If you make a visit to the brick and morter. I highly suggest that you try on the Bruand, if only for a laugh. When they say wide brim they mean WIIIIIIDE brim.

    Hat Shops in London?

Being a guest of the big city while I'm here studying, I will say after visiting Lock and Co, Bates, and Laird. the only one I've spent my money at was Bates. I bought a very nice very dark navy blue poet. It is high quality and gorgeous, the finish on the felt is a little more plush then I'm...

Ok loungers there are a few of the now defunct Beaver brand 5x hats on Ebay. i have no experience with this brand and they are being offered at reasonable prices (40-60 USD). Is it worth it to lay down some cash or should i skip them and save my dough for something better. mostly im concerned...

Open Crown Stetsons: A Call (Plea) to Retailers!!

of all the pictures That Matt Deckard has blogged from his shenanigans around Stetson Headquarters. This is by far my favorite, hands down. Truthfully Indy played no small part in my adoption of the fedora as signature piece in my wardrobe (with more then a little help from Rick, Teddy, and you...

Buying hat blocks--what does one need to know?

the other two loungers have it pretty well sorted but here's my take What size of block you buy and the shape of said block is entirely dependent on what you want to do with it. If I'm guessing right you are reshaping some of your hats that have gotten out of sorts due to the weather the rain...
