    Belt

The belt itself is nice, but I like dead plain unadorned leather. I make my own ones. I really like the octagonal buckles though and I can't find a decent solid brass one or I'd have made one. They always look good IMO. I'm not criticising that belt, it's really good. I'm just quite a plain...

What are your sunglasses of choice?

I've got a couple of pairs of these. A 60s pair that have a more brushed finished and a 90s pair like these. They are my favourite Ray bans by a mile. I have others I sometimes cut around in but those are the only metal frames I wear

What are your sunglasses of choice?

I have a pair of Harry Palmer Ipcress File skelpers as my ordinary glasses. I've always been of the opinion that if you have to wear glasses then make it bloody obvious

What are your sunglasses of choice?

I have a pair of pretty old Ray Bans that look a bit like the sunglasses Lennon is wearing in The Beatles Rain video. They are in superb condition and I wear them a lot. I can't find any info on them but they are my favourite. I have a few other pairs of RB. Black plastic aviators and...

    Turquoise/Native American jewelry

that's really nice. i didn't realise the native americans rattled out stuff like this. I have a couple of Ottoman rings I wear. A peridot one and a red agate one. both silver obviously and highly decorated. they aren't very expensive but I always wanted one. My uncle had a massive amber coloured...

    The wrist watch.

I like that style of Komanderskie. they are just good daily thrash watches, decent movements, shockproof, waterproof and they keep decent time. They also don't look "cheap" or obvious copies of other stuff. You don't run into that many folk wearing the same watch either, which is quite nice...

    The wrist watch.

I've got three Vostok watches. Two Amphibia and a Komanderskie. Two automatics and one wind it up yourself. They can take a fair old kicking and come back for more. Cheap to buy, they look decent and they have been reliable for me. I wonder if they'll be harder to come by now we are tense with...

    Explaining the Aero Fit.

I'll be heading to Aero to get fitted up for whatever jacket I decide to go for. I'm tall and slim and if I'm shelling out that sort of wedge then it will be after I've been measured up by them. I'm fortunate that my sister lives in the Scottish Borders so I'll be spongeing off her. Two birds...

    Show us your SHOES !!!

Some swanky shoes on view in here. I'm plain. I like Chelsea boots, desert boots and wallabees and have pretty much stuck with all those for 40 years now and can't see me changing. I can dress up/down with all that stuff without needing to try too hard thankfully. But there are some cools shoes...

    French Peasant Workwear Trousers

I totally forgot about the skins wearing them. British youth culture was totally tribal and quite a lot different to the US stuff. My best friend was the last mod in town here I reckon. He finally sold his old Lambretta a couple of years ago and his Vespa was one of those ridiculous ones with...

    French Peasant Workwear Trousers

Relco Men's Vintage Jackets - Relco London sell the version I remember. It was definitely a PVC back protector that my mates had as kids. Not sure I want one TBH, channelling a 1950s binman is all a bit Mark Lamarr

    French Peasant Workwear Trousers

I have certainly seen replica donkey jackets for sale. Normally on those retro mod type places. I'm quite a fan of 60s gear really so you sometimes get the skinhead gear sold alongside and the skins wore the donkey jackets. i suppose most clothing had a practical beginning whether for work or...

    French Peasant Workwear Trousers

i ordered a black more fitted version of that french workers jacket. It looks pretty sharp TBH, nicely cut and suits me well enough (I think). It's not vintage though, but its a modern take on the same thing i guess.

    French Peasant Workwear Trousers

I remember loads of kids wearing the donkey jacket when I was growing up. That was a heavy wool based working jacket that was around here . They always looked cool. They are out of fashion nowadays.

Help educate me in leather soles?

I always remember my grandfather taking sandpaper to his new shoes soles and then he would glue a philips?? sole onto it. He always bought quality shoes and they always had leather soles but anyone that has walked on certain surfaces after a downpour will understand why its essential.:p
