Need help on 30 year HS reunion outfit?

Service boots -- another great idea, thank you. I very much want to wear the (ridiculously loud) shirt, but I don't want to appear as if I'm being serious about it. Just imagine an urban cowboy wearing that shirt with a cowboy hat, a big belt buckle and shit-kickers. My wife did just buy me a...

Need help on 30 year HS reunion outfit?

I had not considered chukkas or chelsea boots, hence my rather extreme choice. Thank you!

Need help on 30 year HS reunion outfit?

Hello; My 30th HS reunion is right around the corner. Men will be wearing everything from blazers and slacks to t-shirts and blue jeans. I bought a very loud western shirt for my upcoming HS reunion (see photo.) It's in my alma mater's colors. I bought it because of the colors, because of the...

    Question about hat style.

I already wear Campdrafts with jeans and such. But with s suit? In today's world? Would it really work without looking odd?

    Question about hat style.

You're right. Extremely practical. I've worn a 8 panel newsboy cap with a suit in the past. I don't think caps look good with suits in general, but they are acceptable and extremely practical.

    Question about hat style.

Exactly what sort of hat would a young person (24) wear while attired in a business suit in Chicago this coming winter? I don't want to look like a dweeb, but as a native Californian I'm very cold-sensitive. Thanks.

    Walking Sticks & Canes.

Sword canes are highly illegal (felony) in many places so beware.

Pocket Watch + Chain + Lapel Buttonhole + Pocket

At first thought it would seem like the t-bar should not be exposed. But these photos make me feel different. Not only do they identify the exposed metal as a functional watch and not simply an adornment, they have also been worn like that through history and there there are plenty of nice...

Excellent examples -- Bryant was (and possibly is) an affected poser. The chain AND the wristwatch is far worse than the belt AND braces regiment...

Pocket Watch + Chain + Lapel Buttonhole + Pocket

I don't think there are any codified rules for wearing a pocket watch in this manner. Ultimately I know what I like and it's invariably old school -- something that has withstood the test of time. When I saw the character "Bernard Hatch" wearing the pocket watch as he did there was absolutely...

Pocket Watch + Chain + Lapel Buttonhole + Pocket

The problem with that belief is that it's purely subjective -- it depends on a person's taste. Spin it any way you like but there are correct ways and incorrect ways to wear a pocket watch sans vest. While some are immediately offensive at first glance (except to the wearer!) others are...

Pocket Watch + Chain + Lapel Buttonhole + Pocket

Sure there is. There may be no uniquely correct way to wear a watch chain but there are correct ways and incorrect ways. We have seen pictures of both on this thread. I know what a watch guard is but I thought they were typically used by working people when watches were kept in the front...

Pocket Watch + Chain + Lapel Buttonhole + Pocket

Thanks for the two FDR photos. They say a lot. First, FDR pretty much had to have at least acceptable style as a top politico. Second the bar does indeed enter the lapel buttonhole from the back. Third it's obviously no problem if the bar is visible. The PBC key would be ludicrous in that...

I also now wonder if it was a chain or perhaps a strap?
