As you said, on the plus side, a 7X CB in 7 1/2 l.o. for under $200 is an insane deal for any buyer.
I won that one and I AM doing the happy dance. I was very surprised that I won it for the price it went for. My high bid was considerably higher. M_Jones I hope you can take some solace in...
I've had good success shrinking a hat using the following method,
Wet the sweatband with a spray bottle, soak it actually. Turn the hat upside down and put a dish towel inside. Arrange the dish towel so only the sweatband is exposed. Hang a light bulb in the hat so the heat from the bulb...
I like the looks of that. It looks fairly straight sided and the brim looks to be not too wide. I like the brims on my fedors to be in the 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 range. My Italian is non-existent so other than the pic I couldn't get much info. My size is 7 1/2 or 60 cm but I am an extra long oval...
Can anyone make a recommendation for a reasonably priced homburg with a full crown. I need one for my daughter's wedding in Oct. I don't want to buy a wool one and I don't like a tapered crown, I much prefer a "stovepipe straight" crown or even one with a little reverse taper. I could have...
I've been in Optimo. Granted it was a Sat morning and I was there to see the door unlocked. Graham was not there but the young lady who was there was very nice and showed me everything I wanted to see even though I said I was just looking. I would do business with them based on my single...
Wow, a real wooden flute owner ! I bought a plastic oboe so I wouldn't have to worry about it cracking. What kind of maintenence do you have to do to keep your flutes from cracking ?
I have had very good success with this method. I am an extra long oval and need to reshape every hat I get. I use a hat stretcher I bought at Harbor Freight because it has tapered sides and seems to be narrower than others. I put the stretcher in the hat and just barely snug it so I don't...
My wife bought me three thrift store hats for my birthday, a no-name wool English walker, a wool Dobbs stingy and a very nice Mark 65 Lee. The Lee has a glued overwelt and is coming loose in the back. It looks like it may have been attached with double sided tape. How should I go about...
Hey Fletch,
I'm interested what else you have. I have a 1920's Beuscher Tru-tone alto, an old three digit serial number Evette clarinet and a full system high pitch Buffet clarinet with the low Eb key and all the extra trill keys etc. I'm not really a collector but things have a way of...
Fletch, it's good to see another sax man on the Lounge. I'm a doubler, mostly woodwinds but also on brass in some local university groups for fun. I've played since I was eight. The local Band Director moved into the house across the street and the next thing I know my mom has me sitting in his...
I don't know anything about Bandera. Mine has the same sweat logo and liner logo as yours but the felt feels different than the two Resistols I have. The Bandera feels like it has more beaver in it.
