Thanks. No name, just a run of the mill well made, soft and malleable 50s Borsalino. I have considered reducing the brim by a fraction for variety but I can't seem to be able to pull the trigger.

I wouldn't be able to, either. The proportions look great as they are.

rlk, You have beautiful hats. Every one is just terrific even if the style isn't my flavor there is nothing not to enjoy. Good eye man.

That's the best one on you I've seen yet. Very natural looking, clean, sharp, all business.

I was away so long I forgot how breathtaking...

Absolutely incredible to "push on through to the other side" of this thread...
If I started to write out all the compliments, agreements and kudos I would have another stack to go through before I hit the "post" button.
Thanks for the compliments on the Panama RBH.
Storming, blowing, raining so hard the power, phone and internet have been hit and miss all day so I haven't been in the outdoors much at all and I am expecting the funnel clouds soon so I'll post quickly.
Custom VS Oxblood that landed on the alter for worship recently:

Agreed!! Love that straw. I love the way your bowtie compliments both your first hat and the straw. Great look.
Thanks Josh, I had ordered that green tie and this burgundy sometime before I received the Oxblood, just to match these hats and because I love forest/moss green and oxblood/wine/burgundy colours and frequently work them together as well because I think it makes the finest colour scheme ;) :D
Just popped this tie on to demonstrate:rolleyes:

I would not consider tinkering with the brim of a good hat. They were designed with balance in mind, and the hat as shown reflects that balance. It's one of the reasons I like Borsalinos, because of their overall look. I'm sure you could say the same about many other hat designs too.

How to wear a hat

I realize this is a 'what is' thread as in what is you wearing... but I'm starting to think of this thread as more of a how to as in 'How to wear a hat!'

Carry on.

This doesn't really fit here but I'll post anyway. I was wearing my dark brown Mossant to court the other day and had it setting on the clerk's counter. An older attorney/friend saw it and asked about it. He said he had been looking at westerns but they didn't quite work for him. I urged him to try on my hat. He started asking around what others thought of it on him. Then he went to the restroom to look in the mirror. Then he wanted me to take his pic with his iphone so he could look at it later. He was like a kid in a candy store. I urged him to borrow the hat a few days but he was afraid of something happening to the hat. As I left I heard him saying, "This is just the greatest day". Finally, after so many of my friends saying "it isn't me" I may have converted someone!!!!!
